Turning Vegan

Comments

when i was first diagnosed with breast cancer, and given the pathology reports, discovering that my cancer was estrogen receptor positive (which means it feeds on estrogen) i did a little investigating about estrogens and phytoestrogens used in our agriculture and the upswing of cancers in the US.

Seemed like a simple choice to me, this stuff isn't good for me. What they are using to grow it is making little girls mature at 10 years old, causing a surge in breast cancer and prostate cancer, among other horrors.

All that being said, after my first chemotherapy session, the only thing my stomach wanted or could hold was meat. red meat. new york strip steak medium rare. and spinach. Isn't it odd that your body tells you that you need protien and iron? As sick as I was from the chemo, I just listened to my body.

I have also come to realize that unless I grow my own food, I can't eliminate the phytoestrogens in my diet completely. Yeah, I have eliminated trans fat, lowered saturated fat, and thats a start.

Peace from a possible future vegan :))
